Pitot Tubes

Pitot tubes (Staubscheib, Type S) are available for purchase, fabricated from Type 304 Stainless Steel Tube, in accordance with guidelines and tolerances described in the Federal Register, Volume 42, #160, Thursday, August 18, 1977.

Standard Specifications:

3/8" OD tubing, .049" wall (18 gauge), Type 304 Stainless. Other sizes or materials available on request.

Straight pitots, effective length measured from center of air opening. Delivered tube would be 6" longer. Sensor attachment end will be separated by approximately 1.25".

Pitots with 90 degree bends will have the same effective length, plus 6" to the inside radius of the bend. The bent portion of the tube will be 3" long, separated by approximately 1.25".

Tubes less than 15" effective length are only available as straight tubes.

The base price of a 14" (effective length) tube is $45. For longer tubes, add $5 per foot of effective length. For a bend at eh end, add an additional $5.

New Gooseneck Nozzles

Standard "Gooseneck" nozzles are made with Type 316 Stainless Steel, DOM (Drawn over Mandrell) tubing (not welded tubing). The base can be either male NPT or straight tube. Size and type must be specified. A standard nozzle would be 4.45" from base to center of orifice. Nozzles over 0.31" orifice size would have a larger tip welded to 0.375" tubing.
